Gorilla Tophat Bio
Introducing kick ass new Canadian band; Gorilla Tophat.
No samples were used in the making of Unnatural Habitat! Everything you hear was played by GT or one of our collab Artists.
Bogged down by the repetitive and conforming nature of today's music we tried to bring back some old school concepts and mix it up fresh with our bass driven style.
Buckle your seat belts and listen to our newly released album 'Unnatural Habitat' for some groovy foot stomping goodness. Thanks Eh!
Gorilla Tophat is proudly Canadian coming out of South Western Ontario and was created by two former members of CWS; Bassist Alex Deuzeman (Bass/Guitar) and Front Man Jacob Snow (Vocals/Piano).
Our music is bringing back the smooth, soulful magic of Funk and mixing in a little Rock, Jazz and Pop. Overall we are defined by infinitely groovy bass lines and thought provoking lyrics, complimented with horns, piano, percussion, rock & funk vocals.
Our influences are widespread and include Artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, 311, Big Wreck and Third Eye Blind.
We are also very fortunate to have had the opportunity to bring you collaborations with the following talented Artists:
